Growing and Moving your Business
A business is like a plant, if it isn’t growing, it’s dying. No one knows that better than John Frangella and Eyal Geiger at Proto3000 Inc. ( http://www.proto3000.com/ ). They have grown their business fast and have had to move it to a new larger facility to better serve their customers.
The space at the old location was undersized and much too tight for existing staff. It was difficult to have phone conversations because the office was small and noisy. Staff and customer meetings were nearly impossible. Proto3000 had inevitably outgrown their office space.
A relocation to a larger facility was a must and so the planning started. Proto3000 Inc. turned to their IT partner Vertigoal Inc. to discuss a plan to relocate the IT infrastructure with the least amount of disruption and loss of productivity. With a checklist in hand, everyone involved had their tasks.
A new location was chosen and a move date was established. Vertigoal’s responsibility was to coordinate the relocation of phone lines, internet, computer network and phone system. We worked backwards from the move date to establish a project timeline and assign/schedule tasks.
Weeks prior to the move, communication to everyone involved helped to finalise details. This was repeated again just days from the move date. The day before the move, Vertigoal check and verified backups of all the equipment including server, phone system, router, etc. Everything was in order.
The big day of the move started early. The network and phone systems were disconnected, dismantled and carefully transported to the new location. The reconnection was in full swing and within a little over an hour, the phone system was back online and it started receiving calls. The server and network was operational too. Although one hard drive failed in the process of the move, the server continued operational.
As the furniture and the rest of the IT equipment arrived, the Vertigoal team started to connect all users onto the network. Each user’s computer and phone was individually tested. Test calls were made, email and browsing tested all okay before we moved onto the next user.
Furniture, computers, phones and all other equipment was all in the new location. Although not all in its place, the final touches will come. The bulk of the move was complete and most importantly, without any loss of productivity or disruption to the day to day operations. Proto3000 was ready to start the next business day operations as usual.
The move was a success. The new location looks terrific. It’s a clean start with plenty of room for growth. There’s a sense excitement and enthusiasm. The energy is invigorating and a great way to start the first days at the new location. Thank you to the team at Proto3000 Inc. for allowing Vertigoal Inc. to be a part of your journey and managing your IT infrastructure. On behalf of Vertigoal Inc., I wish you all the best of success at your new office and always.
Cheers,
Miguel Ribeiro

Hello Vertigoal,
We are so glad it’s over. We’re settling in and our systems are working better then ever. The new Internet service you sold us, is lightning fast. Thanks again for your assistance in making this a smooth and successful networking and telecommunication move.
